Thorntown – Inez Edens, 70, of Thorntown, died Monday afternoon in Witham Memorial Hospital at Lebanon. Mrs. Edens was a member of Thorntown Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was born Nov. 15, 1910, at Waynetown, a daughter of James and Hattie Swank Humphrey. She was first married to Irvin Hamm then to Fred L. Wyant. Both men preceded her in death. She then married Alray Edens, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Bob Hamm of Kokomo and Fred Hamm of California; four daughter, Betty Loungh, Kay Clouser and Jane Clouser all of Thorntown; and Ruth Ann Wyant of Phoenix, Ariz.; a stepson, James Edens of Flora; four stepdaughters, Katheryn Wright of Tell City, Mamie Shirar of Frankfort, Mary Merritt of Greensburg, Ky., and Dottie Dunham of Flora; a brother, Virgil Humphrey of California; a sister, Ruth Mahorney of Adams; 15 grandchildren; 24 stepgrandchildren; 13 great-stepgrandchildren and 14 great-stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepson and two sisters. Services are at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Russel & Hitch Funeral Home at Thorntown with Brother Allen Moody officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 3-9 p.m. Wednesday. smc
